The Great British Sewing Bee is a reality tv show that first aired on BBC two in April 2013, the show consists of 10 talented amateur sewers that are competing for the title of “Britain’s best home sewer”
The TV show has had many good years on air, and coming into 2022 everyone is awaiting the announcement of series 8.

Series 1-3 was presented by Claudia Winkleman with star judges Patrick Grant and May Martin which in series 4 they were joined by Esme Young.
The Great British Sewing Bee also returned for three special episodes as 12 celebrities took to the sewing machines to raise money for Children in Need in 2014
After a solid 4 series “The Great British Sewing Bee” decided it was time to take a break, then returning with their big announcement of series 5 in 2019 on BBC One with Joe Lycett taking over as presenter.
The format of the show is Similar to the British favourite “The Great British Back Off” in that each episode has 3 challenges sticking to an overall theme
The series starts with 10 amateur sewers and after each episode the weakest will be eliminated from the competition.

The pattern challenge
Each sewer given the same pattern which they must follow as accurately as possible.
The transformation challenge
Each sewer is given the same garment which they will have to reinvent.
The made to measure challenge
The sewers design and create there very own garments, but they must create their design to fit human models.
